| Shuichi Kanazashi was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of UMN Pharma by the companyfs Board of Directors on November 15, 2007 after serving as Chief Medical Officer since 2005. Prior to joining UMN Pharma, Dr. Kanazashi was the Executive Officer & Chief Scientific Officer of Shin-Nippon Biomedical Laboratories Ltd. Previously, he was employed by Nippon Roche K.K. and Sony Corporation. As a diplomat of the Japan Pediatric Society and the Japanese Society of Allergology, he was engaged in clinical practice at various hospitals in Japan and accumulated abundant clinical experience. Dr. Kanazashi received his M.D. and Ph.D. degree in medical science from Kyoto University. He completed his research fellowships at Harvard Medical School/ Massachusetts General Hospital. |

| Masahiro Hayashi is the Director of Administration and Corporate Planning for UMN Pharma. Prior to joining UMN Pharma, Mr. Hayashi was a Director of Sales and Marketing with Skylight Biotech Inc. and was involved in the business development of unique laboratory services for blood lipoprotein subclass determination in and outside of Japan. Previously, Mr. Hayashi held positions with Summit Pharmaceutical International where he was engaged in the overseas sales and marketing of pharmaceutical ingredients and with PwC Consulting (currently IBM Business Consulting Services) where he conducted business consulting to the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Hayashi earlier worked as a project coordinator for new drug development and as a pharmacologist in immunology/allergy research at Sandoz (currently Novartis Pharma). Mr. Hayashi received his bachelor degree in pharmaceutical science from Kyoto University. He also studied at Lancaster University in U.K. for two years.

Yoshiki Yagi is the Director of Research & Development for UMN Pharma.
Prior to joining UMN Pharma, Mr. Yagi was a manager with Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (The Roche Group at present) where he was involved in the clinical development of several drugs for central nervous system conditions such as Parkinsonfs disease and ischemic stroke, infectious diseases such as influenza, and metabolic disorders such as obesity and metabolic syndrome.
After 2000, while serving as a clinical leader with Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Mr. Yagi led the clinical team focused on the development of the anti-influenza drug TamifluRDS, leading to its successful launch. He was also engaged in evaluation of several drug candidates including anti-asthmatic and anti-diabetic candidates. Mr. Yagi received his bachelorfs degree of pharmacy from Tokyo University of Pharmacy and Life Sciences. |

| Junichi Takagi, USCPA is the Chief Financial Officer of UMN Pharma. Prior to joining UMN Pharma, Mr. Takagi was the Senior General Manager of CSK Corporation where he was in charge of investor relations, corporate finance and the research and advancement of various managerial issues. During this time, Mr. Takagi also acted in a supporting role as the founder of ASCII Corporation which is a consolidating subsidiary of CSK, and a well-known pioneering venture firm in Japan. Previously, he was the Manager of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., Corporate Finance Department. Mr. Takagi received a bachelor of economics from Keio University and an M.B.A. from George Washington University, Washington D.C., USA. He also obtained CPA certification in the USA in 2003. |

| Masahiro Michishita, M.D., Ph.D. is a Director of UMN Pharma and the President of Pacific Rim Ventures Co., Ltd. Previously, Dr. Michishita was the Investment Officer for the international investment group of JAFCO Co., Ltd. He was involved in investing in medical devices, biopharmaceuticals and healthcare information technology companies in the US, Europe and Israel. Dr. Michishita was earlier employed by Procter & Gamble Far East, Inc., the Boston Consulting Group and Eisai Co., Ltd., Japan. Dr. Michishita received his M.D. degree from Kanazawa University and his Ph.D. degree in medical science from Kyoto University. Dr. Michishita also completed a research fellowship in the Leukocyte Biology & Inflammation Program at Harvard Medical School/ Massachusetts General Hospital.

Hisamitsu Kato is a Corporate Auditor of UMN Pharma and the President of Internet-Town Corp.
Mr. Kato was engaged in system development and sales promotion for medical and manufacturing information systems with Toshiba Information Systems (Japan) Corp. Previously, Mr. Kato was employed by Cradle Agriculture Corp.
Mr. Kato received his bachelor degree from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. |

Masao Okui is the Corporate Auditor of UMN Pharma and the Representative of Okui Medical Planning Office, a privately owned consulting firm for pharmaceutical development. Mr. Okui previously worked for Acronet Corporation, a leading Japanese contract research organization. Mr. Okui has also held senior positions with other companies including EPS, Parexel International and Nippon Wellcome K.K. (GlaxoSmithKline) where he established a project management division as the Head of the Development Planning Division. Mr. Okui was earlier employed by Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Astellas Pharma, Inc.) and was the CEO of Fujisawa USA.
Mr. Okui received his master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Osaka University. |

| Isamu Yamaguchi, Ph.D. is the Chief Scientific Advisor of UMN Pharma. Dr. Yamaguchi was the former President and Chief Executive Officer of the company. Prior to joining UMN Pharma, Dr. Yamaguchi was Secretary General of The Novartis Foundation of Japan. Previously he was the head of the Tsukuba Research Institute of Novartis Pharma K.K. and head of research at Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Astellas Pharma Inc.). He is now a visiting professor of Kyoto Pharmaceutical University. Dr. Yamaguchi received both a B.Sc. and a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Tokyo. |
