Protein Sciences Corporation signs a contract which amounts to about 147 million dollars with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for new way to make flu vaccine.
Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on June 23 that the department has signed a new $35 million contract with Protein Sciences Corporation, Inc. for new way to make influenza vaccine. The contract could be extended up to five years at a total cost of approximately $147 million. HHS says that the Baculovirus Expression Vector System (BEVS) technology could help the nation respond to emerging infectious diseases such as seasonal and pandemic flu.→HHS news release
